We have been helping families breastfeed successfully for over a decade. Here are a few testimonials and thank you messages we’ve received recently from our clients which demonstrate why Jane is such a highly recommended lactation consultant.
"Jane single-handedly rescued our breastfeeding journey"
I found Jane when my little boy – Freddie – was 10 weeks old, I genuinely thought my breast feeding journey was coming to a painful end! I couldn’t feed him without it bringing tears to my eyes. I was devastated as I really wanted to be able to feed my boy!
When I nervously arrived for my first appointment I found a warm, friendly and welcoming person, who immediately put me and Freddie at ease. The clinic itself is comfortable, clean and private so a perfect environment for boob work!
My first session was like a light bulb for me, Jane’s expertise and knowledge improved our latch and technique so much that I could feed Freddie pain free! Even after discovering that he has a tongue tie Jane taught me how to work around this so my baby doesn’t need any unnecessary medical procedures.
Her follow up care was second to none, calling me every day to see how we were getting on.
Overall I can’t fault the care Freddie and I received from Jane, she has been amazing and has single-handedly rescued our breastfeeding journey.

"Without Jane's support and advice, I would not still be breastfeeding my son"
I thoroughly recommend Jane as a lactation consultant. I consulted Jane at my wits’ end, after my son was diagnosed with tongue-tie and operated on, and yet feeding was still very painful and distressing. Undoubtedly, without Jane’s support and advice I would not still be breast-feeding my son 5 months later.
She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in breastfeeding, and combines this with a lovely, warm and kind manner, and a practical and pragmatic approach to finding the right solution for you and your family.
Her clinic is a relaxing and comfortable space, which was much needed as a stressed new mum!

"Jane stands in a league of her own..."
Jane was reassuring from our first meeting when I was still pregnant, and listened carefully to my various worries, needs and hopes.
Jane’s extensive knowledge of breastfeeding, coupled with her knowledge as a former midwife, make this a very valuable aspect of her support.
I feel incredibly lucky to have found Jane, she has been essential to my breastfeeding journey this time around. I have previously worked with two other ICBLC lactation consultants, however Jane stands in a league of her own both in terms of her knowledge, and the level of commitment and support she provides.

"I don't think we would still be breastfeeding without Jane's advice and support. I wish we had called her sooner"
Jane’s help was invaluable in getting us back to breastfeeding at 3 months after many complications.
She helped us with positioning, establishing a good gape, and reducing supplements, and guided us through a tongue tie redivision.
She was very generous with her time, calling me often to check how things were going. She was always compassionate and positive, and kept my emotional wellbeing in mind with every suggestion she made.
I don’t think we would still be breastfeeding without Jane’s advice and support, and wish we had called her sooner.

"Jane's dedicated support and encouragement was key to me successfully breastfeeding"
After struggling with breast feeding my first child, I wanted so much to have a positive experience with my second. I had terrible anxiety however, and I felt like it was an impossible task. It was wonderful to meet Jane who is such a warm, committed person – she put me at ease immediately.
Her knowledge and experience is extensive. When I found my son had a tongue tie, I was quickly reassured that there were options and that it wouldn’t necessarily have any impact on feeding my child or demand a medical procedure. With Janes help, I managed to breastfeed without any need for tongue tie division.
It was Jane’s dedicated support and encouragement that was key to me successfully breastfeeding. This kind of guidance, I believe, is invaluable to any new parent.

"Without her help we would probably have given up and moved to bottles"
From the start Jane was sympathetic to our issues breastfeeding our newborn.
She arranged to see us at home and helped us with breastfeeding, She devised a feeding plan and arranged to get us referred to a specialist to help with the tongue tie issue baby E was experiencing.
After the referral she was in contact the night of the procedure and was a constant source of support, nothing was too much. She saw us multiple times and without her help we would probably have given up and moved to bottles.
Jane has our eternal thanks! She will point you in the right direction!

"Jane is brilliant! I would recommend her to anyone who is having problems breastfeeding"
Jane was fantastic from the moment I rang her worried about my daughter and going forward. She visited us at home for a consultation and didn’t leave until I was 100% confident I could breastfeed with a good latch.
She explained about her tongue tie, how it was affecting her along with our immediate and future options. She was in contact regularly checking I was doing okay and is always happy for me to message with a question.
Jane is brilliant! I would recommend her to anyone who is having problems breastfeeding and wanted support.

"I am certain that without Jane's support I could not have breastfed my daughter"
I contacted Jane for support before my second child was born after a truly terrible and involuntarily brief experience trying to breastfeed my first child with an undiagnosed tongue tie.
I had quite complicated emotions about trying again but really wanted to give it my best shot and Jane could not have been more supportive or helpful – she visited me at home before the birth, talked through my previous experience with me and taught me the things I could do before the birth to give us the best possible start, leaving me all set up to begin colostrum harvesting in the weeks leading up to my due date, as well as with a written plan for the first 24 hours.
Going into hospital with a back up supply of colostrum and a breastfeeding plan helped me feel far more relaxed, particularly when I started to receive contradictory advice from hospital staff regarding feeding as we hit problems – it turned out my daughter also had a tongue tie.
I was able to text Jane for advice and she came to see me in hospital less than 24 hours after the birth, confirming that my daughter had a tongue tie and working with me to find optimum feeding positions.
As it became clear over the next few days that my daughter’s tongue tie would need to be divided Jane helped me to continue feeding her in the most comfortable and effective way possible given the difficulties and advised us on how to access the the tongue tie clinic. She also provided support after the division as we got used to my daughter’s different tongue movement.
She was absolutely wonderful, so knowledgeable, with such a wealth of experience, but with such care for me as an individual throughout all of the emotional ups and downs of the process. She was available by phone or text throughout and frequently checked on how things were going in between visits, giving me the opportunity to ask questions or check things as they happened.
I am certain that without her support I could not have breastfed my daughter and would probably have had a similar experience to my first had I been relying on the support available locally.
I am still feeding after a year and am so grateful to have had such a positive experience this time thanks to Jane.

"I have no doubt that Jane saved our breastfeeding journey"
I honestly can’t recommend Jane enough. She supported me through an extremely difficult first 4 months of breastfeeding, and it is thanks to her that I am happily continuing to feed my daughter aged 16 months, and also that I have been able to donate milk to the milk bank.
I first met Jane when my daughter was 10 days old. I was really struggling to breastfeed and it was sometimes taking hours to get her to latch well enough to feed. I’d had lots of conflicting and incorrect advice, and despite being reassured by numerous professionals that the latch was ‘normal’ and that things should settle down, I was in severe pain during every feed and really felt that something wasn’t right.
I remember the enormous sense of relief on meeting Jane for the first time, when I realised that I had found an extremely safe and competent pair of hands. Jane diagnosed a posterior tongue tie which was preventing my daughter from being able to latch, and referred us to a specialist to get this treated. She provided regular follow up, both face to face and over the phone, and continued to support me through a number of ongoing issues including attachment pain, breast refusal, supply problems, thrush and vasospasm. Thankfully everything settled down after around 4 months, we are still very happily breastfeeding at 16 months, and to this day the only milk that my daughter drinks is from the breast or expressed milk in a cup when I am at work.
Jane is a genuinely lovely person. At a time when as a new mum I was feeling emotional and vulnerable, she provided unwavering support with sensitivity, kindness and professionalism. She provided me with encouragement through those difficult early days that gave me the determination to carry on, and to get to a point where breastfeeding was easy and enjoyable.
I have no doubt that Jane saved our breastfeeding journey, and has enabled me to maintain a special bond with my daughter which I am so grateful for.

"Jane's calm and caring approach made a huge difference to my state of mine and helped me to keep breastfeeding"
With a combination of tongue tie and low milk supply after a tricky birth, I wasn’t able to breastfeed my first child for very long. I found the bombardment of differing advice really hard to navigate and gave myself a really hard time.
So when our second baby arrived in December, I knew I wanted to tackle any difficulties as quickly as possible. We had our first appointment with Jane in week one and I’m so relieved that we did .
Jane has given me hugely helpful personalised advice and tips for breastfeeding, as well as emotional support. Jane’s calm and caring approach made a huge difference to my state of mind and helped me to keep breastfeeding. I would recommend Jane’s breastfeeding support to anyone. Thank you Jane!
